Ten years ago our commercial cider hit the shelf and our commitment to high quality cider continues. To celebrate, we have produced a limited run of our original bottle, affectionately known as the "OG Stubby." Thank you for coming on the apple's journey with Yip as we commemorate four generations of cider makers. Cheers to your health, great cider, and New Brunswick apples.

The man
on the can.

His name was Hugh, but he was known as Yip. In 1964, Yip bought a farm in Long Reach next to his father’s camp. That farm would later become Mackay Apple Orchard.

His son Chas carried on the apple-growing tradition, helping the orchard become a favourite fall destination for families across the Kingston Peninsula and surrounding communities. For many, picking apples at Mackay Apple Orchard became a family tradition of their own.

In 2016, grandsons Joe, Sam and Hugh launched Yip Cider from Chas’s garage, naming it after their grandfather. Ten years later, Yip Cider still carries his nickname and a family story spanning three generations. A story that keeps growing here in Long Reach.

A few years. A lot of apples.
